HELM Corporation was formed in 1990. HELM provides financial management, accountancy, audit and business advisory support services to the public and private sectors.
In addition to its Head Office, HELM operates from bases in the East Midlands, London, Glasgow, Belfast & Dublin.
HELM retains in-house professional units to support financial management consultancy (including PPP/PFI), accounting services and Audit and Assurance services.

Statement of Capability
HELM provides internal audit, risk management, corporate governance and external audit services, including managed services, to Government Departments, Agencies and NDPBs, as well as Local Authorities, Educational Institutions and Housing Associations. HELM also provides audit and other services to international financial institutions such as the European Commission, United Nations and the World Bank.
HELM’s internal audit services are comprehensive and include review of and set up of the internal audit function, production of risk based audit plans, provision of professional and quality assured regularity and VFM audits, reporting to management and presentation of reports to Audit Committees, follow up audits, performance validations, audit training and forensic investigations. All service delivery is by professionally qualified staff and to GIAS.
Current contracts include Department for Education & Skills for the provision of external assessments to schools against the Financial Management Standard, Framework Agreement to Provide External Quality Assurance of Department Culture Media & Sport Sponsored Bodies’ Internal Audit Services and a programme of audits for the Department of Education, the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure, the Public Record Office and the Ordnance Survey.
HELM Auditing Services provides External Audit services to national audit bodies. Projects are delivered by way of assignment or secondment of professional staff.
HELM retains a specialist team of qualified forensic accountants to carry out financial and fraud investigations. The team has been involved in a number of high profile legal cases.
